Malt master Brian Kinsman has given some of the distillery's peated single malt a three-month finishing period in rum casks - but not just any old rum casks. Complimented with Aromatic hops and fresh herbs. Houston, we got perfection. We're constantly partnering trailblazers in the whisky world and beyond. Will be in my collection for sure. These new and unusual whiskies are the result of these exciting collaborations. He's selected rum casks from a variety of South American countries to finish this whisky, which ought to play nicely with the burly peat notes at its core. Aged in oak casks which previously held a bold Speyside IPA, the new single malt whisky holds tones of citrus and tangy hops. it clings nicely to the glass and it holds its flavours for a decent amount of time.. One of the sweetest whiskies that I hold in high regard, I don't always get the hoppy notes but there is a definite apple and citrus freshness.I admit that I might be biased, I gave this as a gift when it came out and my friend and I have been slowly finishing off the bottle ever since but I will never turn down a glass of this lovely little whisky. The fusion of sweet flavours is soon met with a rich drying sensation from the icewine. Producer's Tasting Note:
Filter our whiskies by. I've had a fair amount of ice wine and have visited one of the vineyards near Niagara, so I was quite excited to give this a go. It’s sweet, fairly strong and very enjoyable. For me I'd take it over cooking Glenfidd any day, but, bottom line, it's only worth treating yourself to if it's heavily discounted. Glenfiddich has added a new expression to its Experimental Series, unveiling Fire & Cane in mid-2018. USA: (NJ) Cherry Hill . Paying tribute to classic rum serves of Latin America, cloudy apple brings out the sweetness of Fire & Cane. Is this a 3 year old whisky that's been in an IPA cask for 3 months? and one for keeping, I believe it'll be a firm favourite of collectors in no time. I don't often drink beer, but when I do, I reach for an IPA. Expected much more from this and wouldn't purchase again. This will be a classic and if the rest of the experimental series is as good as this one, then we are in for a treat.Buy two, one for drinking (you have to taste how good it is!) )This content is intended only for those over the legal drinking age in their country. This is very interesting stuff probably won't buy again due to the price but it was certainly worth trying once. The first in the Experimental Series is the Glenfiddich IPA Experiment made through a collaboration with a local Speyside craft brewer.
